(Independent Complaints Advocacy Service) is a free, confidential service which
is independent of the NHS. We can support people in making a complaint
with the NHS.



We provide
various levels of support and can:



1. Provide a
Self Help Information Pack



2. Provide an
Advocate who can:



  • Put you in touch with other people who can help
    you

  • Help you write letters to the right people

  • Prepare you for and go to meetings with you

  • Give you the opportunity to speak confidentially
    to someone who is independent of the NHS

  • Help you to explore your options at every stage
    of your complaint

  • Answer questions to help you make decisions

  • Act on your direction rather than the wishes of
    others



ICAS cannot
however,



  • Help you to claim financial compensation for
    clinical negligence

  • Get and NHS employee Disciplined

  • Give legal advice
