Hei,

Hi Erik,

I'm sure we'd all agree with the opening line of this week's article: There’s one way to know for sure if content works: ask the people we’re writing it for. But how can we test our content and do the methods available actually work?

Matt Fenwick, Content Strategist at True North Content, shares three approaches to user-testing content that he's tried - Cloze testing, the tap test and task-based testing. Matt also offers some thoughts on which method works best for him and why.

Continuing the theme of user-centred content and practices, I wanted to share our guide on how to create great user experiences through great content.

It's a practical guide that explores the intersection of content strategy and UX design on a website design project. The guide includes how to embed content-first thinking into popular UX design techniques to reveal actionable insights about the content. There are also lots of example outputs so you can see it all in action.

Lastly, I wanted to share a final reminder of our webinar next week. It's all about what your users and customers want to achieve and how you can figure that out. Join us and learn what Customer Jobs are and why they are crucial for digital success, how Task Analysis helps you find Customer Jobs, and how the Customer Job method builds a solid framework that provides confidence and trust.

(Tuesday, September 8, 4pm to 5pm UK time)

Thanks to those who answered my question last week about sharing non-GatherContent resources in this newsletter too. It was an overwhelming 'yes' so watch this space. Also, if you have any opinions, examples and advice you'd like to share with our audience, I'd love to chat about potential article and webinar opportunities.

Thanks,
Rob
