Hei,

Subject: Why PDFs are (mostly) bad. Plus how to validate content ideas

To: <eribsskog@gmail.com>

Hi Erik,

PDFs have been popping up in quite a lot of chats lately, mainly in relation to accessibility, or rather, lack of. But as this week's article by Matt Fenwick starts, 'If PDFs are as terrible as people say, why is this format still all over the internet?'

Matt adds that if we want our organisations and customers to shift to more accessible formats, we need to grapple with how they think about content. Take a read and find out why PDFs are (mostly) awful, when they're not, why organisations cling to them so tightly, and how we can start to step away from the PDF.

[Article] Why are PDFs (mostly) awful and what's the alternative?

If you like this article, here is an easy link to tweet it to your peers.

If you missed our webinar the other week, you can now watch it on-demand. Amy Grace Wells walked us through a project and shared advice, methods and learnings for how to create a research plan and recruit the right participants. Amy also shared a set of qualitative questions that elicit deeper insights and responses. There was a great Q&A after the main presentation too.

If you think the webinar would be interesting to your peers, here's an editable link to share it.

Finally, I wanted to share our checklist that can be used as an agenda for group discussions to help you collaboratively validate content ideas. Discover the best questions to ask to scrutinise your content around needs, goals, and relevance, roles and responsibilities, priority level and governance.

[Checklist] Validate content ideas

Know a team with lots of content ideas? Share the checklist to help them out.

Thanks for reading (and sharing) and as always, I hope this week's content is useful for you.

Thanks,

Rob
