Hei,

ERIKA,

Various states across the country have taken voter suppression to new levels to prevent our voices from being heard. Voter ID laws, purging voter rolls, restricting ballot drop boxes, refusing to save the Postal Service, and so much more.

We know all too well that voter suppression has a disproportionate impact on Black voters -- for obvious reasons.

ERIKA, no matter how hard they try, they will not silence us.

With the stakes being as high as they are this election, we refuse to stand by as voter suppression runs rampant.

That’s why we’re partnering with our friends at Frontline and reaching out to folks like you to become an Election Defender right here in your state.

You might be wondering -- what makes Election Defenders different from traditional poll workers and watchers?

Election Defenders will work to ensure a safe and fair voting environment at the polls. Whether it’s providing PPE to those who don’t have it, de-escalating intimidation tactics, or involving a network of different groups and lawyers if trouble were to arise, Election Defenders will be the superheroes of the polls this year!

Learn more and sign up for trainings to be an Election Defender here.

We’re depending on folks like you to help ensure people across the country are able to vote freely and safely, as it’s our right to do so. If we want Black lives to matter, we’ve got to ensure that voices of the people are heard and not silenced.

Electoral politics is an important form of protest and is part of our work to change the system -- that’s why we’ve got to do all we can to ensure that folks can exercise their right to vote freely.

Bringing an end to the state sanctioned violence against Black people along with taking down the systems of white supremacy present is critical, and the way this election plays out will have a lot to do with just how many folks we can empower to vote -- while ensuring they can safely do so.

Join other superheroes at the polls together by becoming an Election Defender -- because voices should be heard, not silenced.
