Hi,

I think your reply seems a bit far fetched.

This is not a one off.

I'm almost drowning in emails like this, where internet-trolls has ordered 'shit', in ny name.

So your email doesn't add up.

I want a reply from the Managing Director about this.

(I want to know the name, of the internet-troll, who has ordered/written this, in my name.

And I want to know, how you plan to improve, to avoid that something like this happens again).

Hello Erik,

Thank you for your email.

My name's Adam Staszak and I'm one of the coordinators here at Displate. Your case was brought to my attention by my colleagues and I'll do my best to assist you today. Hopefully, I'll be able to dispel your fears and doubts related to this unfortunate situation of unwanted emails.

As my colleagues explained earlier (additionally, I have provided my insight to them on this matter whilst discussing your case), the reason behind the emails that you have received before seems entirely coincidental. There was a user whose details were similar to yours, so was the email. This is not completely impossible, as, from my own experience, it also happened to me a couple of times when a person named exactly like myself had an email which was almost identical to mine and, as you can guess, also entered it incorrectly trying to use some audiobook service.

That being said, in your case it's slightly different - I am certain that somebody was browsing our website, liked the product, and thought "this looks good, but I want some discounts" and entered the email to receive promotional offers. Sadly, that email was typed in wrongly and being similar to yours, was used by our system to provide the addressee with promotional emails. Of course, such emails never reached that person that wanted to receive them, because they were unfortunately delivered to your inbox (as the system simply sent marketing emails wherever it was told to send them by a person typing that in), for which we are sorry, as you did not mean to receive them.

Please rest assured that none of this affects your personal information and it remains safe. Unfortunately, no system in the world is able to predict if a customer is typing in the email correctly or not, moreover, there is no possibility to prevent such email to be registered anywhere it's entered. What we can guarantee is that we have also checked our system and we can see that no emails are sent out to your email address from our end.

Once again, we are sorry that you found out about Displate in such a way, being sent the emails that you did not want to receive. Moreover, we wish that we could have tools that are able to somehow recognize if the e-mail is typed in correctly by a user. It is, however, simply beyond the scope of ability to prevent this from happening at this stage. All typos can be of course fixed in word processing software while writing, for example, an article, where rules of grammar can be applied, however, on the internet websites, computers nor systems simply won't "know" if things so random like email addresses are correct or not, or do they look as the user intended them to look.

We do, however, constantly keep looking for new solutions and new technologies, so whenever such a possibility becomes available, we will be first to try it.

As we explained earlier, please have no doubt that your data is safe. Once again, on behalf of our entire Team, please accept our most sincere apologies for this unfortunate turn of events.

Please do not hesitate to contact us again if we can be of any further assistance.

Have a nice evening,
Best regards,

Adam Staszak

This is a follow-up to your previous request #471768 "Re: [Displate] Re: Klage/Fw..."

Hi,

like I told you in an e-mail from 6/4.

I want this to be escalated to a superior.

(I want to know the name, of the internet-troll, who has ordered/written this, in my name.

And I want to know, how you plan to improve, to avoid that something like this happens again).
