Hei,

Erik Ribsskog

Hi Erik,

Thanks for contacting us again about the email you had received to confirm subscribing to another website (lailamonicavedumstuenhibakkennikolaisen.wordpress.com).

We understand that it can be disconcerting when an action has been taken on your behalf without your knowledge or consent, and identity theft is a serious concern. The email that you had received, asking you to confirm that you'd like to subscribe to that site, is actually a tool to help prevent others from using your identity, since it requires you to click a link to confirm the subscription.

By not clicking the link in the email to confirm, the subscription is not completed or processed further.

However, if you're looking for some way for your email address to not be used whatsoever, that I'm afraid is impossible because we can't control what other people will type into forms. Sending the confirmation emails will at least confirm that whoever registered to subscribe does in fact own the email they've submitted.

Please also consider that it may be possible that someone else had made a mistake in typing their email address and ended up with your email by accident.

I hope this helps to clarify. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us again.

Kindly,
Henry Cee - WordPress.com Support Agent
