Hei,

To: <eribsskog@gmail.com>

Hi Erik,

When lots of people are involved in content it can be political, with conflicting priorities from stakeholders. But what about the users' needs and how can they be moved to the top of an organisation’s list of priorities?

In this week's article we have an example from Aarhus University about creating a user journey map of the student experience. The map was then used as a facilitation and storytelling tool to connect user needs, data and strategic priorities. It's a brilliant case study of plotting and visualising an entire student journey from study choices through to graduation, and then using the insights to meet both audience needs and business goals.

Deciding who owns content is a contentious issue. But what if managers, subject matter experts and content teams are all owners? In our webinar next month, Blaine Kyllo will share how to get everyone on the same page with clear roles and responsibilities. Blaine will teach attendees what a RACI chart is, how to create RACIs for different purposes like projects, channels, and content types, and how to use a RACI chart to support content stakeholders in understanding what to do and when to do it.

I wrote an article last week about content operations being an organisation-wide commitment and responsibility that needs buy-in from leadership to succeed. It was a guest post for Boye and Co, of which I am a member of their content operations peer group.

Have a great week and good luck to all those taking part in the Utterly Content and Button conferences.

Thanks,

Rob
