Subject: Friday 4th November - Drinks Party
To: eribsskog@gmail.com

Hi
We are very much looking forward to seeing and chatting with our members and guests at our next drinks party on Friday 4 November at the St Stephens Club.
Circa-Club is delighted that Croffta will be providing, with their compliments, "A welcoming Glass of Premium Sparkling Wine" from Wales to members and their guests at our November drinks party (7-8pm). This sparkling wine from the Vale of Glamorgan is produced using “la méthode traditionelle’ from mature 40 year old Seyval Blanc vines at the Bevan family owned Croffta Vineyard.
Using this process and left on the lees for a minimum of three years the characteristic fine bubbles and taste that are associated with champagne and premium sparkling wine are achieved. Each year the Croffta grapes are harvested and sent to award winning Three Choirs Vineyard located in Newent, Gloucs, where they are made in to high quality and delicious tasting sparkling wine for your enjoyment !. For more information contact: James Bevan 01443 231441 or 07711 946447 - www.croffta-wine.co.uk
Following on from the great response last month to the launch of the Circa-Club (Silver) Events Membership Card ( £10 – for the member and a guest, valid for 6 months that's less than £1 per person per event! ) it would be really helpful to us if in the coming weeks, before the November Circa event if those Circa guests wishing to purchase a membership card would do so by contacting Catherine, our membership secretary on 07913 644 710 who can then process your payment by credit/debit card or by email at Catherine@Circa-Club.com. Once your payment is processed, you can then collect your membership card on the night, or if you prefer it can be posted to you. By pre-issuing membership cards before our events it enable us to spend more time chatting with everyone.
The Circa-Club Silver (Event) membership card benefits include Complimentary entrance for the Member and 1 guest to:
1. Circa-Club Drinks Parties held on the first Friday of the Month (7pm-11.30pm) except January. Admit 2. Complimentary glass of wine on arrival (7-8pm).
2. Shadow Lounge on the first Friday of the Month (10pm-3am). Admit 2 between 10pm-12.30am. Shadow Lounge, 5 Brewer Street, Soho, London W1F 0RF Tel: 020 7317 9270
For non members and guests, from September, there is an entrance fee of £5 per person to attend the monthly Circa-Club event, which will also include a complimentary glass of wine between 7-8pm.
A big thank you to everyone who has supported Circa-Club over the years and as we continue to grow, we are going to be looking at offering our members even more benefits in the near future. As you can imagine as the Club grows, so does it's administration. Much needed help is now being provided by Catherine, our Membership Secretary who is working with me full time.
Looking forward to seeing you all at the next Circa-Club Drinks party at the St Stephens Club on Friday 4 November.
All the very best
Patricia

Google: US law enforcement tried to get videos removed from YouTube

The technology giant's biannual transparency report reveals a 70% rise in takedown requests from US government or police

Josh Halliday
Tuesday October 25 2011
guardian.co.uk

http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2011/oct/25/google-transparency-report-released

Google faced down demands from a US law enforcement agency to take down YouTube videos allegedly showing police brutality earlier this year, figures released for the first time show.

The technology giant's biannual transparency report [http://www.google.com/transparencyreport/] shows that Google refused the demands from the unnamed authority in the first half of this year.

According to the report, Google separately declined orders by other police authorities to remove videos that allegedly defamed law enforcement officials.

The demands formed part of a 70% rise in takedown requests from the US government or police, and were revealed as part of an effort to highlight online censorship around the world.

Figures revealed for the first time show that the US demanded private information about more than 11,000 Google users between January and June this year, almost equal to the number of requests made by 25 other developed countries, including the UK and Russia.

Governments around the world requested private data about 25,440 people in the first half of this year, with 11,057 of those people in the US.

It is the first time Google has released details about how many of its users are targeted by authorities, as opposed to the number of requests made by countries.

"For the first time, we're not only disclosing the number of requests for user data, but we're showing the number of users or accounts that are specified in those requests too," said Dorothy Chou, a senior policy analyst at Google.

"We believe that providing this level of detail highlights the need to modernize laws like the Electronic Communications Privacy Act, which regulates government access to user information and was written 25 years ago?long before the average person had ever heard of email."

Brazil made the most content removal requests in the first half of this year, according to the report, followed by Germany, the US and South Korea.

by Drew Grant 10/26 12:58pm
While there's nothing scarier to Michael Bloomberg than Occupy Wall Street protesters, for the rest of us they generally are more zany than terrifying. But as we approach Halloween, the outfits worn by OWS-ers to make a statement about...something...can often be confused from your average New York costume party. (Especially when they all dress as zombies.)

Om meg

Bildet mitt
