Hi,
on Friday, I was going to Walton, and Jet, regarding a course.
I always take the bus, but this was in the rush-hour, so I decided to take the train, for once.
I went to Lime St. station, and I had to ask one of the staff, for directions, since I haven't taken Merseyrail to Walton before, only the bus.
I was told to go to Central station, and then on the Northern Line, to Walton.
I followed the sign, on Centrail station, it showed Northern Line, to the right, and then your employee, said that I had already been in Walton, and kept both my ticket to Walton, and my return-ticket.
I tried to explain, that I hadn't been in Walton, and I tried to take the tickets back, since they were mine.
But your employee called for a guard with a yellow reflex-jacket.
I started explaining, but then your employee with the black jacket, shouted at me, interrupting me, in an inpolite way, like an army sergant or in similar way.
I explained to the one in the yellow jacket that I had talked with his collegue, at Lime St. station, and was following his directions to Walton, when this happened.
I showed your employee with the black jacket the sign to 'Northern Line', that I had followed, and then got my tickets back.
But I checked the time, on the tickets, and the tickets were printed out, ten minutes before this episode started.
So it wouldn't have been possible for me, to have already been in Walton, and returned, in ten minutes.
So I want to complain about these things:
- Poor signing, the 'Norther Line'-sign, points to the right, where as the stairs to the Northern Line-plattforms are to the left.
- Your ticket-controler, said that I had already been in Walton, and returned, when the tickets were ten minutes old, this was obviously a lie.
- Your ticket-controler interupted me, and acted in an aggressive way, when I tried to explain where and when I had bought the ticket.
I also had to take the bus back from Walton, since I didn't want to meet the aggressive ticket-controler again, so you owe me £1.70.
I attach three pictures, one of the controller, one of the tickets showing they were bought at 14.19, and one picture of the what the time was, on the Northern Line-plattform, after the episode with the ticket controler, then the time was 14.32, so the episode occured around 14.29, when the tickets were ten minutes old!
I hope that you can please investigate this complaint, in a proper way, since from now, I think I'm going to think twice, before I go with Merseyrail again, due to the way your employees were acting!
Yours sincerely,
Erik Ribsskog
