Dear Graduate,

As an alumni of the University of Sunderland, we’d like to let you know about our new magazine GETTING AHEAD for individuals looking to improve their prospects through higher level qualifications. It features life-changing student stories and testimonial endorsements from employers.

Here at the University of Sunderland we have a wide range of flexible part-time undergraduate and postgraduate courses that combine academic theory with the practical vocational skills required by employers.

Many of our successful graduates have combined part-time study with the demands of full-time employment, applying their new skills to their day to day work with both the student and the employer reaping the benefits.

GETTING AHEAD contributors include:

Debbee Forster, a manager at the Intercontinental Hotel Group.

Debbee’s employer wanted her ‘to grow’ with the company and supported her to do an MSc Human Resource Management on a part-time basis.

Five different students from the BA (Hons) Applied Management part-time course (all working full-time), who attend the University on a Saturday to gain a qualification relevant to their work.

Richard Walker, Group Operations Systems Manager for the Formica Group and Bethan Bell, Residential Officer at Sunderland City Council. We follow a day in the life of both Richard and Bethan, showing how these contributors developed their professional standing and applied their new found skills to their jobs.

Om meg

Bildet mitt
